JAMMU, Nov 5: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today called upon the people to participate in the development of the State as they were the main stakeholders in the process.
The Minister said this while interacting with the inhabitants of Sanjay Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Ashok Nagar after launching macademisation work in the internal link lanes of the localities to be completed at a cost of 18 lakh.
The Minister said that the Government was making all out efforts to provide better infrastructure and amenities to the people. He called upon the people to extend their cooperation and keep a watch on the implementation of schemes for better results on the ground. He said that the Coalition Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State at their doorsteps, adding that various development projects have been initiated in the State to facilitate the public.
Mr. Bhalla also directed the accompanying PHE Department engineers to replace worn out water supply pipes so that the seepage do not create any hindrance during macademisation work.
The Minister said that the main focus of the Government was to develop every corner of the State on modern lines, for which liberal funding has been provided by the Central Government to the State Government.
Mr. Bhalla said that the Government has approved various prestigious projects under Tourism Sector in Jammu region to attract tourists, adding that construction work on artificial lake was in full swing and would be completed within stipulated time frame at an estimated cost of 110 crore besides other major projects like Peer Kho to Bahu Fort Ropeway (Gandola) would also be started soon at a cost of, Rs 47 crore, he added.
Mr. Bhalla said that the Government was endeavouring hard to develop all the areas of the State with modern and need based infrastructural facilities, adding that in this regard all the departments are working in a more organized manner for ensuring better services to the people.
Laying stress on maintaining quality standards, the Minister asked the senior functionaries to conduct regular inspections of the under execution works to keep a check on quality of material being used.
Later, the Minister also visited Sunjwan village and listened to the problems of the people. He assured them that their genuine hardships would be redressed on priority.
