UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: A mock interview drive on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, was organized under project UDAAN by Govt. Degree College Udhampur, to provide an exposure to aspiring students and equip them with required interview skills.
Principal of the College Prof. S. S. Bhalwal presided over the session.
Firdous and Vishal Singh from Indian Institute of Skill Development, a corporate partner of Project UDAAN, were the resource persons.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Bhalwal said that students from rural areas lack exposure to requirements of the corporate world despite having a good intellectual capacity and there is need to support such students and to prepare them for the interviews.
Prof. Sudhir Singh also spoke on occasion and deliberated on the language requirements for an interview.
Firdous gave a detailed presentation on the working environment of corporate world and expectations from aspirants who desire to join it. Vishal also shared his views on working in the private sector.
On the occasion, the students were divided in groups and were given feedback on their performance and suggestions to fill the gaps, if any. They were also taught to prepare their CVs and present well in interviews.
Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Prof. Romesh Chander and Prof. Jawaid Sarver were the organizers of the session.
