MLA, VC SMVDU, MP Telangana call on Governor

JAMMU, Mar 29: Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member Legislative Assembly from Kangan  and chairman PAC, called on Governor N N Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Mian Altaf discussed with the Governor various matters relating to the speedy implementation of developmental works, to enable fuller utilization of available resources.
The Governor appreciated Mian Altaf’s concerns and urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting the people’s welfare.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra also called on Governor. This was Prof. Jain’s first meeting with the Governor after he took over as the new VC of SMVDU.
The Governor heard Prof. Jain’s future work plans and advised him to work towards making the University a centre of excellence.
Meanwhile, V. Hanumantha Rao, M.P Telangana also called on Governor.
Keeping in view the ever increasing number of pilgrims from South India who undertake the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, the Parliamentarian urged that the Amarnath Annadana Seva Samithi, Siddipet, be enabled to set up a Langar at Baltal.
The Governor agreed to have this matter examined timely.
