POONCH, Feb 8: Stressing for creation of durable assets in rural areas of Mendhar, Member Legislative Assembly, Javed Ahmed Rana today called for effective monitoring of various ongoing developmental works in Balakote.
At a meeting of officers, the MLA reviewed the progress of various developmental works being executed in Balakote under CSS, State and District Plan and urged the officers to achieve set physical and financial targets within stipulated timelines without compromising qualitative standards.
Works under MGNREGS, PMGSY projects, SBM besides IAY, water supply schemes and power infrastructure in uncovered hamlets in the tehsil were particularly discussed in details and the MLA conveyed relevant instructions to the concerned officers. Various internal rural road links of PMGSY and R&B were also discussed in the meeting.
On the occasion Mr. Rana also announced Rs 20 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for development works in panchayats and urged the PRI representatives in the block to create durable assets for common good.
Meanwhile, the MLA also directed the SDM to ensure punctuality in Government offices in the Sub-Division and see to it that general public is not made to suffer. Issues pertaining to NFSA implementation and fault free coverage under priority category were also deliberated upon.
