JAMMU, May 11 : Continuing his commitment towards strengthening civic infrastructure in Jammu West constituency, MLA Arvind Gupta today inaugurated the construction work of lanes and drains at Lane No 2, Shakti Nagar, Ward No 29.
The work will be executed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 24 lakh.
The project addresses a long-pending demand of local residents who had been facing severe inconvenience for nearly 24 years due to damaged lanes, inadequate drainage facilities and chronic water logging during rainy season.
The inauguration was carried out in the presence of BJP Mandal president Kushan Prajapati and whole Mandal team, former corporator Surinder Choudhary, local BJP leaders and residents of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said that ensuring quality civic amenities and resolving basic public issues remain among his top priorities as MLA of Jammu West.
He stated that the residents of Shakti Nagar had been suffering for years due to the absence of a proper drainage network, resulting in rainwater entering residential houses and causing repeated inconvenience to families.
“Development at the grassroots level is essential for improving the quality of life of the people. This work will provide permanent relief to residents from water logging and drainage-related problems which remained unresolved for decades,” Gupta said.
“The BJP is committed to equitable development and strengthening public infrastructure across every ward and locality of Jammu West constituency,” he added.
