Poonch, May, 1: MLA Haveli Ajaz Jan today convened a meeting of prominent citizens, members of various political parties and Chamber of Commerce to discuss steps needed to improve roads network in Poonch City.
In a well attended meeting which was attended by Sunil Gupta President Beopar Mandal, Nishu Gupta, President poonch youth Forum, X.En PHE Mohd Taj and E.O Municipality M.A Lone, the citizens raised issue of renovation of lanes and drains besides blacktopping of main bazaar road.
Sunil Gupta said that the condition of interior roads is worrisome and Government has turned a deaf ear towards them. He asked MLA to intervene and start work on renovation of all roads. NIshu Gupta demanded blacktoping or tiling of entire main bazaar road. He also demanded that 132 kv line should be restored immediately.
MLA issued on spot instruction to EO Municipality MA Lone and X.En PHE Mohd Taj to start the renovation process immediately. MLA also sanctioned an amount of Rs 1.25 crore under BRGF Plan, out of which Rs 10 lakh have been placed at the disposal of XEN PHE.
