JAMMU, May 1: A mock “Emergency Response Drill” was conducted by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at their LPG Bottling Plant, Bari Brahmana.
In the drill, various Government Departments including Pollution Control Board, Revenue Department, ESI Hospital and neighboring industries like Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Rajiv Rice Mills and JK Indus participated.
Indian Oil Corporation’s Plant Manager Mohinder Kumar was the Fire-in-chief and site controller, who supervised the entire mock emergency drill.
Mohinder Kumar told that such exercises are conducted by them on a regular basis so as to assess the emergency preparedness of their employees and response time of the concerned Government Departments and the neighbouring mutual-aid partner industries.
The teams lead by the other plant officials including Dipender Singh Madaan, Jastej Singh Sra, Yashpal Singh Verma, Vikas Bhutani, Tarun Chauhan and Neha Thapa actively participated in this mock fire emergency drill.
On the occasion, Kuldeep Bhan, District Officer, Pollution Control Board, Samba, Aman Kumar Anand, Naib Tehsildar, Bari Brahmana, Dr Rajpal, Medical Superintendent, Dr Saurabh and staff from the ESI Hospital, Bari Brahmana were also present.
