MENDHAR, Nov 8: In his continuous efforts to reach out to the people, MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana, today toured Nakka Manjheri area of Balakote and held a grievances redressal camp.
Besides, Tehsildar Mendhar, Shehzad Khan and other Sub Divisional and Tehsil officers of PHE, R&B, FCS&CA, Social Welfare, the MLA was also accompanied by President of Mendhar Sarpanchs Association, Shokat Choudhary, NC Block Presidents of Balakote and Mendhar, Tanvir Khan and Haji Mir Mohd and Sarpanch Nakka Manjheri, Iqbal Khan.
The MLA took stock of various developmental projects and needs of the area which included stalled road projects and water supply scheme. The MLA patiently listened to the demands and grievances of local residents and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for their early redressal.
While inspecting Harni-Kalal Dhara and Harni-Keri Kangra roads, the MLA took serious note of compromises with established specifications and technical requirements in the hilly terrain. He assured to get it enquired how despite advance drawal of allotted funds, the Harni-Keri Kangra road, which was supposed to be completed long back, is in a mess owing apparently to serious deviations from technical guidelines of PMGSY.
The MLA also expressed dissatisfaction over incomplete Nakka Kund-Manjheri water supply scheme, started over eight years ago. Rana also inspected various other ongoing developmental works in the area and directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all the works are executed in time bound manner while maintaining the quality.
Meanwhile, the MLA, while expressing solidarity with the LoC shelling victims of Saujian, Nowshera and Balakote Sectors, reiterated for enforcement of ceasefire on LoC. He expressed sympathies with the families of those killed or injured and showed concerns over extensive damage to about a dozen houses and killing of cattle.
