KISHTWAR, Nov 8: Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Public Works (R&B), Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Sunil Sharma toured the remote areas of district Kishtwar and held mega public grievances redressal camps at different places.
During the week-long tour of the district, the Minister visited Inshan, Nowpachi, Changer, Hansal, Chicha, Sounder, Marwah, Warwan areas along with the district administration and took stock of public grievances.
The Minister inaugurated 28 metre span single lane deck type steel bridge on Inshan- Basmina road over Choi-Draman Nallah in block Marwah and a 30 metre span bridge on Inshan-Mergi road at Afti, block Marwah, constructed by PMGSY. He also laid foundation stone of motorable bridge at Yurdu and Purana Qadal bridge at Marwah.
The Minster visited village Sukhnai and interacted with the fire victims. He also distributed Biomass Chullas and solar lights to them.
Reiterating the commitment of Government for development of the area by providing road connectivity and employment to the locals, Sunil made various announcements during the extensive tour of the area. He announced that mini hydro power projects would be constructed at Marwah and Warwan which will cater the electricity needs, besides generating employment opportunities for the locals. Appan Nallah in Marwah was selected as the site for construction of mini HEP.
The Minister announced that construction work on Nowpachi -Hanzal and Pethgam -Rainie Nallah links will be started soon. He further informed that the Government has allotted funds for black topping of Inshan-Nowpachi road, work on which will be started shortly for which the tendering process has been initiated.
The Minister held a series of public grievance redressal camps at number of places at Marwah and Warwan which were attended by people from the adjoining areas.
Sharma also visited the ration depots of the area and took stock of availability of ration for the winter season. The concerned officer assured that adequate stock of essential commodities has been made available for winter season.
DDC Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, ACD Kishtwar Garbi Rashied, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar, AD Fisheries, DSWO, besides other district officers accompanied the Minister during the tour.
