SRINAGAR, May 11: Member Legislative Assembly Dina Nath Bhagat today distributed cheques worth Rs. 39 lakh among 118 beneficiaries for promotion of horticulture activities in Chenani Constituency at a function organized by the Horticulture Department at Ghordi.
The financial assistance in the shape of cheques have been distributed by the MLA under different schemes.
The cheques worth Rs. 25,000 each among 70 beneficiaries were distributed under District plan, Rs. 50,000 each among 40 beneficiaries under SCA to TSP Scheme and commulative amount of Rs 88,800 among 8 beneficiaries under MIDH scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that Government has taken numerous innovative initiatives to boost the horticulture in the State particularly in rural and hilly areas. He said several Centrally and State Sponsored Schemes have been launched, under which the farmers are being provided initiatives on purchase of tools and plants.
Mr. Bhagat called upon the farmers to come forward to avail the benefits of schemes launched for their welfare under the Horticulture Sector.
Later, Mr. Bhagat also chaired a meeting of officers to get first hand appraisal of the pace of on-going developmental works carried out by various executing agencies under different sector in the Constituency.
Impressing upon the officers and officials to maintain punctuality regularity in their respective offices, Mr. Bhagat asked them to maintain work culture for addressing people’s problems. He also asked them to attend the peoples’ problems and try to redress on priority.
