RAMBAN, Aug 27: The Member Legislative Assembly Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani led a delegation to District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz here today to discuss issues faced by local residents of Sumber, Mahu, Mangit and Banihal.
The delegation comprised of Sarpanchs and Panchs and representatives of local organisations.
In the meeting, MLA highlighted various public issues of his constituency before DDC including compensation of damage caused by construction of railway tunnel in Sumber and construction of community hall in panchyats.
He also stressed on the maintenance of pot holes and broken roads along tunnel construction sites and rural link roads. He also raised the issues of water and power supply, ration supply, road compensation, shortage of staff in schools and medical centres.
DDC directed the XEn PHE to conduct a survey for restoration of water supply schemes damaged by construction of railway tunnels in different areas.
Besides giving patient hearing to the deputation, the DDC redressed a few issues on spot by speaking to concerned officers and directed them to resolve the public issues immediately.
