JAMMU, Nov 10: MJR -47 today demanded that justice be made with the refugees of 1947 from PoK by sanctioning a package not less than Kashmiri migrants for them.
In a statement issued here today it said that no consultation has been made with them on finalization of one time settlement package by the Government so far. It demanded that all refugee organizations be taken into confidence in this regard. The meeting said that if Government is really interested in the settlement of refugees’ issue it should defreeze at least eight Legislative Assembly seats in favour of PoK refugees living in J&K since 1947 out of the 24 Assembly seats which were kept for PoK since 1952. In absence of this exercise all other promises are false and misleading, it added.
The MJR -47 asked the refugees not to get swayed by such promises and continues struggle for their rights.
