Missing boy’s body found after 11 days in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Apr 26: After an exhaustive 11-day search, the body of a boy who tragically drowned following a boat capsizing in the Jhelum River in the Gandabal area of Srinagar has finally been recovered.
An official confirmed that the boy’s body was found near the Old Zero Bridge in Rajbagh area of Srinagar. He was one of three individuals who had been reported missing since the boat capsized incident on April 16 in Gandabal, on the outskirts of Srinagar.
Sadly, the incident claimed the lives of six people, while ten others were fortunate enough to be rescued from the boat, which was carrying 19 individuals when it capsized.
The official further stated that the retrieved body has been transferred to SMHS Srinagar for necessary medico-legal procedures.
