RAMBAN, May 16: Two cops in the escort vehicle of senior Congress leader and MLA Dooru, Ghulam Ahmed Mir were injured here today when the vehicle they were onboard was hit by a tanker coming from the opposite direction on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Dalwass.

However, Mir escaped unhurt in the accident.
Police sources informed that the cavalcade of Mir was coming from Jammu and moving towards Srinagar when the accident took place at Dalwass.
The tanker involved in the accident was bearing registration number JK02BN-5144 and the escort vehicle was of Bolero make car bearing registration number JK02C-4686.
The injured cops were identified as Sanjay Kumar, resident of Kathua and Abdul Rehman, resident of Ganderbal.
After receiving first aid at District Hospital Ramban, the injured cops were referred to GMC Jammu.
Police has arrested the truck driver after registering a case in this regard and started investigation.
