JAMMU, May 15: Pradesh Congress Committee, president Ghulam Ahmed Mir held a group meeting with CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora and Leader of the Congress Legislature in the Upper House Jugal Kishore Sharma and discussed various measures to intensify the ongoing membership drive and other measures to strengthen the party in the State.
The leaders discussed the statergy to gear up the campaign of the party, to highlight the problems of people of different sections and the approach of present PDP-BJP Coalition Government to the various issues of people. The leaders stressed for further co-ordination between party legislators of both the Houses and the organization to highlight the shortcomings of the present Government in dealing with problems of different sections of the society and regions of the State and attempt to pass on the onus to the previous Government for the failure of the present Government to deal with issues on various fronts.
The leaders also discussed the approach of the present Coalition Govt to sideline and ignore the legislators of Opposition parties in the official functions by the present Government and termed it as most unfortunate which is against the essence of democracy.
Mir asked the party leaders that they can bring to the notice of the party the various issues of people for chalking out effective strategy to translate the grievances of the people for playing the role of responsible Opposition. He also invited suggestions about organizational affairs and other related issues of the party from the senior leaders for having regular interaction with them so that the organization is strengthened with the cooperation and contribution of entire rank and file for effectively representing the aspirations of people of the three regions.
