KARGIL, Oct 10: Minister for Tourism GA Mir, Minister of State for Science and Technology and Youth Service and Sports Feroz Ahmed Khan and Chief Executive Councilor of LAHDC Asgar Karbalayee inaugurated the Kargil Tourist Festival at Khree Sultan Choo Stadium, here.
On the occasion, traditional cultural programme, Archery and traditional heritage programmes were organized.
While welcoming the guest, Executive Councilor of LAHDC Kargil for Tourism highlighted the problems and demanded special package for the promotion of tourism.
Chief Executive Councilor of LAHDC Asgar Karbalayee also addressed with the gathering.
Army Brigade Commander, DC Kargil and SSP Kargil were also present.
Minister for Tourism in his speech assured that for the promotion of tourism in Kargil, Government will pay full attention.
Mir said there is great potential for tourism in Drass during summer as tourists visit Drass and Mushkoo Valley after paying obeisance at Shri Amarnath Shrine.
“Tourism Department will provide full support to the public of Drass for establishing guest house and hotels”, he added.
