Mir campaigns for Mehboob Beg

ANANTNAG, Apr 18: Senior Congress leader and Tourism Minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir today addressed several meetings in his home constituency of Dooru Shahabad in Anantnag district of South Kashmir and asked people to ensure win of coalition candidate Dr Mehboob Beg.
Mir heads the Congress Party’s campaign for its coalition partner National Conference in Anantnag Parliamentary seat that goes to polls on April 24.
The Congress leader asked the people in different meetings during the day long road show to ensure the victory of secular forces led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
“These elections are between secular and communal forces. If the country and the J&K state has to develop, we have to ensure the victory of secular forces,” he said, while seeking votes for NC- Congress coalition candidate, Mehboob Beg. ” I appeal people to strengthen the hands of Soniaji and Rahulji,” he added.
The Tourism Minster visited Mehmood Abad, Dalwatch, Gagisgund, Tanjloo, Shistergam, Wangund, Manzmoh and many other places in his constituency. The road shows were held despite bad weather condition. Mir was accompanied by senior party leaders during the road show.
