POONCH, Apr 18: The in-charge headmaster of Govt Middle School Darra Dullian, who was absconding for the last 4-5 days was today arrested by police from forest area this evening.
As the people of Poonch city under the banner of Poonch Youth Club led by Nishu Gupta held strong protest against police for its failure to nab the accused teacher for this shameful act, the police parties under the supervision of SP Poonch conducted series of raids and different places and managed to nab the accused headmaster Vilayat Hussain (46), son of Maqbool Hussain of Darra Dullian from nearby forest area. He had allegedly committed rape on 12-year old girl student, making her pregnant.
The agitating people were raising slogans against police and also against the headmaster and Education authorities demanding his immediate arrest and dismissal from Government service. The protest was held at main Chowk in the town for about two hours.
It was learnt that people of the area have also withdrawing their female children from this Government school. The villagers of the area have demanded that teacher be removed from service. Meanwhile, CEO Poonch said that he was recommending this teacher’s dismissal case to the Director School Education, Jammu.
