Mir asks Cong workers to gear up activities

JAMMU, Dec 22: Former Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, GA Mir has asked the party cadre to gear up their activities in view of forth-coming elections in the State.
A meeting of various departments of PCC included heads of frontal organizations, cells and departments of J&K PCC was held here today at Party headquarters, Shahidi Chowk, here in which various ways and means were discussed to further strengthen the Congress party in the State.
PCC chief in his address briefed the meeting about the experiences in the recent electoral exercises and the plan to strengthen the frontal organizations and departments of the party to gear up for the future elections which are quite near and asked them to strengthen their respective frontal organizations and cells at booth, block and district levels.
He said that the results of recently held Assembly elections in five states shows that Congress is the most acceptable secular force in the country. The need of the hour is to reach to the people in every nook and corner in order to make aware the common man, especially young generation about the programmes and policies of Congress party.
Mir said that there is great opportunity for the Congress party to emerge stronger in view of the total betrayal and failure of BJP to fulfil the commitments and come up to the expectations of the people of this State. The BJP has been totally exposed in the eyes of the people and Congress feels the pulse of people and would move forward on right path to seek their attention towards Congress party in big way.
Most of the participants shared their views on these issues and gave feedback to PCC president about the ground situation and the strategy to strengthen organization.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included, Mula Ram, Taj Mohi-Ud-Din, Jahangir Mir, Bhalwan Singh, Manmohan Singh, Shah Nawaz Choudhary, Asgar Karblai, Indu Pawar, Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, Udhay Bhanu Chib (PYC), Shiv Kumar Sharma (INTUC), Ch Gharu Ram, HL Pandita, Rakesh Wazir, Zahida Khan, KL Gupta and Suresh Dogra.
