Minor killed, 10 injured in road mishaps

Srinagar, Mar 9: Police today said a minor was killed while ten others were injured in different road accidents in Valley.
A police spokesman said a tractor hit and critically injured a 2-year old girl identified as Safoora Bilal at Tumpora in Magam area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. “The injured was shifted to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead,” he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
The spokesman said a truck JK02U-5955, a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK03A-6171 and a Figo car JK01S-7699 collided on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Charsoo in Awantipora area of Pulwama district, resulting in injuries to drivers of these vehicles. “All the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment,” he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
The spokesman said an accident took place between a tractor number JK13-4783 and a Maruti car JK01K-9830 along National Highway near Lethpora in Pampore area of Pulwama district, resulting in injuries to both the drivers. “Both the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The spokesman said an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian identified as eight-year old Mohsin Altaf Teeli on Baramulla-Handwara National Highway near Gund Khoru in Handwara area of Kupwara district. “The injured was shifted to the hospital for treatment,” he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
The spokesman further said a Figo car bearing registration number JK09A-1700 turned turtle near Kachiwari Bridge in Handwara area of Kupwara district, resulting in injuries to four persons boarding the car. “All the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he added.
