JAMMU, Aug 25: A 12-year-old girl today died under mysterious circumstances in Khour area of Akhnoor.
Quoting the family members of the deceased, a police spokesman said that the girl identified as Pooja Devi daughter of Manohar Lal, resident of Mirpur, tehsil Khour, used to take medicines of some disease for past some time but yesterday after taking the medicine, her condition deteriorated following which she was hospitalized but doctors at hospital declared her as brought dead.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites. In this connection, Khour police has initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
