Udhampur, May 18: A minor boy was drowned after he fell from a temporary foot bridge over Tawi river at Thala in Udhampur district.
Identity of the deceased was established as Ganesh Kumar son of Subash of Matloa Thalowa. Despite hectic efforts by police and locals, his body was not recovered till filing of the report.
The boy drowned after he slipped while crossing the temporary foot bridge along with his friend to reach a flour mill at the water stream near Thalowa. Operation to recover the body was still going on.
