KISHTWAR, Dec 20: A minor boy died due to food poisoning, while several others are being treated at Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital Jammu.
As per police sources, six children hailing from areas falling under the jurisdiction of Atholi Police Station were shifted to DH Kishtwar after they fell unconscious due to food poisoning.
All the children were rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Padder and after first aid, they were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar.
As the condition of the children deteriorated further, they were referred to SMGS Hospital Jammu, where one of the minor identified as Ashwani Kumar (11), son of Suresh Kumar of Padder failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to morgue of GMCH Jammu for autopsy, while the other children are responding to the treatment at SMGS Hospital, when last reports came in.
Atholi police has taken cognizance in this regards.
