UDHAMPUR, May 28: As Shri Anna Yojana has been implemented in all Central Armed Police Forces, a Millets Fair was organized at STC BSF, Udhampur.
Under this scheme, the use of Shri Anna like jowar, ragi, bajra, dal etc. is to be promoted in daily diet. Calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, magnesium and fibre are found in abundance in Shri Anna, which have high nutritional level, controls diabetes, heart remains healthy, helpful in weight loss and also improves the digestive system. India is the largest producer and exporter of Millets in the world.
Today’s Millets Fair was inaugurated by Rajesh Kumar Gurung, Inspector General BSF and Head of the Centre to promote Millets in daily diet and to make it more popular.
In the Millets Fair, all the officers of the Centre, other ranks, recruits and families along with their children participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the taste of many delicious dishes prepared from Millets.
