Militant held with arms in Poonch

JAMMU, Jan 15: Police and Army today arrested a militant along with a consignment of arms, ammunition and explosives from village Chaprian in Sabjian area of Poonch.
He has been identified as Mohammad Azam son of Mohammad Akbar Lone, a resident of Chaprian, Sabjian.
Reports said a joint team of Poonch and Srinagar police along with Army conducted a search operation at Chaprian in Sabjian area of Poonch district on specific information about movement of the militant and apprehended him.
At his instance, police and Army recovered one AK-47 rifle, two Chinese pistols, eight AK magazines, two pistol magazines, 30 AK rounds, one pouch and one Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing six kilograms.
With the arrest of militant and recoveries made from him, a major terror plot has been foiled, the reports said.
SSP Poonch Jatinder Singh Johar supervised the operation.
