SRINAGAR, July 9: Police in Bandipora along with security forces arrested a LeT militant and recovered live grenades and ammunition from his possession.
Police said that based on a specific input regarding movement of militant towards Hajin town for subversive activities, a joint Naka was established in Hakbara area of Hajin town by Bandipora police, 13 RR, and 45 Bn CRPF.
One militant Rafiq Ahmad Rather alias Haji of Chandergeir was apprehended while trying to hurl grenade on the Naka party. “Incriminating material along with live grenades and ammunition (2 live grenades and 19 live rounds of AK 47) were recovered from his possession.
Police said that he had joined LeT recently and was tasked to carry out attacks in and around Hajin locality by way of grenade hurling on police and security forces. In this connection, FIR under relevant Sections of law stands registered in Police Station Hajin and investigation has been initiated.
