Migrants delegation calls on RRC, submits memorandum

JAMMU, Aug 26: A deputation of Kashmiri Migrants led by its chairman Er. Ramesh Chander Mahajan called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, (Migrants), T K Bhat here, today and apprised him of the various problems being faced by them.
The deputation also submitted a memorandum to him demanding immediate issuance of EPIC to eligible voters at Migrant Election Office of Shanker building here and all zonal/ camp offices of Jammu, Delhi and other states of the country so that they can cast their franchise with proper details to ensure 100 percent participation of migrants in coming Assembly elections.
The memorandum further said that soon after the mass exodus of the community the Government had obtained forms from migrants of their movable and immovable property left over in Kashmir Valley for assessment but no action has been taken later on despite the fact that two generations of the migrants passed away and the property has also vanished. An appeal was made to consolidate all details of migrants’ property through website of Relief Department.
It also demanded immediate issue of list of all beneficiary migrants who have submitted the form for those schemes under State and Central Skill Development Programmes and Training and demanded sanctioning of low soft loans and low subsidy loan benefits to unemployed youth who have become over aged.
Providing of transit accommodations to PM package employees’ especially the females and construction of more quarters for accommodating the large families living in camps and those families living in rented accommodations outside the camps. The migrants however complimented the Relief organization for upgradation of Government Hospital to Sub District Hospital Jagti.
