Migrant labourers arrested for gambling

JAMMU, Jan 15: Channi Himmat police arrested eight migrant labourers for gambling and recovered Rs 4,240 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Channi Himmat police station conducted raid in Channi Rama area and nabbed eight migrant labourers for gambling and recovered Rs 4,240 stake money and playing cards from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Bagi Rather, son of Jangi, Chavi Lal, son of Kharu Ram, Audu, son of Halka, Sham Lal, son of Jallu, Janki, son of Buldua, Ramkrishan, son of Chanta, Ragu, son of Lotti and Surinder, son of Sarwan, all residents of Madhya Pradesh, at present Channi Rama.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against them at Channi Himmat police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Channi Himmat police station Inspector Sajad Haider made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
