JAMMU, Mar 12: A middle-aged man today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence at Purkhoo.
Police spokesman said that, 40-year-old Gopi Krishan, son of Neel Kanth of Gumpul, Purkhoo allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence.
The family members broke the bolted door after finding him hanging and later informed the police, he added.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced him as brought dead, spokesman added.
The body was handed over to legal heirs after completion of legal formalities, while a case has been registered and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
