DODA, June 5: The poor and hapless workers who have offered their services for various works carried out by MGNREGA in block Jakyas Tehsil Chilly Pingal held protest against Rural Development Department (RDD).
Amid slogans against RDD, a large number of MGNREGA job card holders assembled at village Gundow and held protest by maintaining social distancing.
They alleged that concerned Village Level Workers (Gram Sevaks) are not paying their pending wages for the last over two year. The matter was brought to the notice of BDO Jakyas but nothing has been done till date, the protestors added.
Led by Mohammed Irfan Keen and Rajinder Singh, these workers warned to intensify their agitation if their wages are not released within a week.
They also demanded enquiry against BDO Jakyas and his staff members for not released the pending wages of the poor labourers.
Anchal Singh, Gulam Qadir Mir, Mangta Sheikh, Mohammed Yasin, Rajinder Singh, Chander Prakash, Sharwan Kumar, Abdul Latif Shaikh, Mahesh Singh and many others were present during the protest.
