NEW DELHI, Mar 6: Mentha oil prices moved down by 0.52 per cent to Rs 828.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Adequate stocks in the physical market due to increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March moved down by Rs 4.30, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 828.50 per kg in business turnover of 345 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 4, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 838 per kg in 71 lots.
Analysts attributed fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market. (AGENCIES)
