Mentha oil extends gains on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 8: Mentha oil prices rose further by 0.85 per cent to Rs 1,565 per kg in futures market today as participants raised their bets on pick-up in demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
Tight stocks position on restricted supplies from major growing regions of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery this month was trading higher by Rs 13.20, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 1,565 per kg, clocking a business volume of 179 lots.
The oil for September delivery was trading higher by Rs 11.60, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 1,608.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 12 lots.
Marketmen said speculators raised their bets driven by surging demand from consuming industries at the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi. (PTI)
