Every day we hear of traffic and increasing air pollution in Jammu city. In this connection I would like to say that there are various business establishments viz banks, banquet halls, showrooms, pizza houses schools etc in Jammu city which do not have their parking spaces. The customers of banks and business establishments and even people visiting schools park their vehicles and school buses outside the business premises. With the result traffic congestion starts and air pollution increases.
The Municipality should identify such places and ask these business establishments to provide parking facilities to their customers or take strict action against defaulters. The Government should also widen the roads and build flyovers in Jammu city to ease the traffic rush. When the traffic congestion is stopped air pollution will decrease considerably. The municipality should realise that they cannot take the patience of general public for granted because they are the people who suffer terribly.
