SAMBA, Mar 25: Members of the Swarnkar Sangh under the chairmanship of Provincial President and Senior Vice President All India Swarnkar Sangh Raj Kumar Babbar met Director Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) RC Dass at Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Hallmark Office, Bari Brahmana.
Hallmark gold is going to be mandatory for the Gold Jewellery from June 1, 2021 and the things pertaining to the Hallmark gold were discussed in the meeting.
Raj Kumar Babbar said that there are twenty districts in Jammu and Kashmir UT, out of which there are only two districts where people get the facility of Hallmarking the gold jewellery and rest of the other 18 districts are deprived of this major facility.
“There is a need to frame the infrastructure for the hallmarking the gold jewellery in all the other districts so that people could get this facility easily available. Unless, the infrastructure for Hallmarking the gold may be framed in all the districts, the jewellers may not be harassed”, Raj Kumar Babbar added.
Babbar on behalf of all the jewellers of Jammu Province requested Director BIS to be compassionating with all the jewellers and Director BIS also assured to do so.
After being requested by Raj Kumar Babbar, Director BIS RC Dass will initiate to launch various camps in all the corners of Jammu Province to create awareness amongst the general masses about the registration of Hallmark licences and other peculiarities very soon.
Lovekesh Gondi Additional General Secretary, Jammu Province, Kulbhushan Anand Chairman, Swarnkar Sangh, Jammu City, Ashutosh Kapoor Ex-President, Swarnkar Sangh, Jammu City and Jagjit Singh President, Nanak Nagar and Gandhi Nagar Swarnkar Sangh were present in the meeting.
