JAMMU, Aug 1: Joint Forum of KP organizations highlighted various issues of the community during Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs meeting at New Delhi.
This was stated by Ashwani Kumar Churungoo, president, Panun Kashmir during a press conference here this afternoon.
He expressed surprise that the recommendations made by the committee have not been shared with the leadership of the community till date. Chrungoo advocated for a mechanism to monitor the implementation of the recommendations of the committee. A copy of the report on the policy and procedure for return of ex-militants in J&K was also presented to the Chairman of the committee, he added.
HL Chatta, president, ASKPC lambasted the Government for its failure to pass the Temple Bill in the legislature, which is in the Select Committee of the house.
HN Jattu, president, AIKPC said that time is not ripe for the return of the community to the Valley and also detailed about the security situation of the Valley.
Rakesh Kaul, president, Kashmiri Samiti, Delhi in his address highlighted the pitiable conditions of the displaced community in the Jagti camp and also of the displaced traders and teachers of Delhi.
Prem Singh Raina, president, KSDF said that minority status should be given to all minorities in J&K including Sikhs.
Virender Raina, spokesperson, Joint Forum of KP organisations, raised the issue of non-implementation of the PM’s special employment package for the displaced youth.
He said that the inhuman conditionalities attached to the employment package should be removed forthwith and the remaining 4600 jobs under the package be implemented immediately. He also raised the issue of overaged youth of the community and demanded a special package for them. He said that the jobs for the displaced youth in public sector enterprises be provided immediately.
