Seminar on ‘Women Education’ organised

DODA, Aug 1:  A seminar on ‘Women Education’ to highlight the role of women in nation building and society development was co-organised by ‘Seven Brothers Education Society’ and ‘Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Doda’, here today.
The Seminar was attended by a huge gathering including personnel from civil administration and different walks of the society.
The seminar was chaired by chief guest, Commanding Officer Rashtriya Rifles, Doda and guest of honour, Prof Z A Hashmi, Principal, Degree College Doda.
The seminar was attended by 90-100 personals comprising of 70 students (55 girls and 15 boys) and 20 teachers. The response witnessed was overwhelming as a large number of students from various institutes i.e. Degree College Doda, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School and Green Model Public School and women from Doda Handicrafts Deptt participated in the event.
The Seminar commenced with opening address of Nisar Pandey who laid emphasis on women’s role in today’s society as well as initiatives undertaken to improve their knowledge and educational standards as a whole.
The Commanding Officer, Doda, later addressed the participants and urged them to utilize the knowledge gained during the seminar. He reiterated that education in today’s time plays a vital role to improve the society, individual well being, economic and social development. Later, he awarded the winners with cash prizes and certificates. The first prize went to Najish Wani, Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Doda, second prize to Firdosh Ahmed, Degree College Doda and third prize to Shariene Fatima  of Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School.
