RAMBAN, Sept 30: A Mega Farmers Awareness Camp was organised under the chairmanship of Ram Sewak, Director Horticulture Jammu at Ukhral here in which around 200 farmers participated.
The Sarpanches and other PRI members also participated in the camp.
The Chief Horticulture Officer, Ramban Anil Kumar Gorka welcomed the Director Horticulture Jammu and other participants in the awareness camp drawn from different areas. He gave brief profile about the district and schemes invoke.
While speaking, Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Sewak spoke in length about the schemes like food processing units, value added products, MIDH, PMDP, UT CAPEX, PMFME, AIF, PMKSY, etc. He also emphasised on the utilization of the WhatsApp official group and projects their field problems and issues for their speedy disposal. He also handed over 13 sanctions for construction of On Farm Handling Units (Pack Houses), Vermi compost units and water harvesting structures. He also assured the participants to organise some training programme on value addition activities.
Tehsildar Ukhral, DLSMS (Pomology) Pardeep Gupta, Farm Manager, ACHD Ramban Virinder Kumar and Horticulture Development Officer Rajesh Gupta were also present in the awareness camp.
