SRINAGAR, Nov 19:  Doctors in Kashmir are going to file Public Interest Litigation against the former Chairman Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE), Peer Mushtaq Ahmad, who is accused of taking crores of rupees from students in lieu of MBBS seats.
President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar Ul Hassan said they will approach court and file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against him.
Dr. Hassan said the purported fraud is condemnable and an exemplary punishment should be given to him and others involved in this scam.
Hassan said these people have brought shame to the reputed institution of the state for their material gains and must be punished so that nobody in future dares to do such a crime.
Police’s Crime Branch has on Monday raided the houses of Peer  as part of investigations (under FIR 24/2013).
The President demanded that the medical seats allotted to these students in medical colleges be cancelled. “How come will such students serve the society who come through illegal means. Such people have brought shame to entire society. And their illegal ways to sneak into our profession is one of the reasons why we are not producing good and efficient doctors,” he said.
DAK President also said that they would stage protests against these “illegal admissions” till the fraudulent students are thrown out of the Medical colleges. “We will also organize some awareness camps across the state to sensitize the general public about such issues and its long term negative consequences on the society,” he said.
