Medical employees demand salaries for FMPHWs

JAMMU, Jan 24: Medical employees have expressed grave concern over non disbursement of salaries to female multipurpose Health Workers borne on establishment of 2011-Family Welfare  for last over 10 to 12 months despite repeated pleas to the concerned authorities and warned to hold demonstration on January 30 in protest.
Addressing a joint press conference here, today, Sushil Sudan, president Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) and Babli Sharma, president, Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers Association, Jammu Province alleged that authorities have again failed to get the funds released with the result the employees are at the verge of starvation.
Seeking the intervention of Governor, N N Vohra they appealed him to get the issue settled once for all so that FMPHWs working under the scheme of 2211 Family Welfare are able to get their salaries regularly and on monthly basis.
They demanded that the grade of FMPHWs be enhanced from 3050-p4910 (pre-revised) to 4000-6000 pre-revised).
They also demanded creation of posts of LHVs in new PHCs and 60 percent quota of health educators be given for promotion to FMPHWs.
While condemning the delaying tactics on the part of authorities the leaders of the medical employees warned to hold one day demonstration in front of Director Health Services office Jammu on January 30.
Others present in the press conference included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Kamla Devi, Neelam Kumari, Rekha Rani, Mamta Sharma etc.
