JAMMU, Nov 1: Media Art Association in its meeting here, today has decried the attitude of Prasar Bharti authorities towards the artists and private producers of the State and warned to launch hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi soon in support of their demands.
The meeting which was chaired by Association president Pran Nath Pandita was attended by the executive members and office bearers of the Association. Besides, the members of other associations related to media art also participated in the meeting and decided to protest jointly against the callousness of the authorities with the people associated with media art directly or indirectly.
The meeting decided to involve the members of other organisations in its programme to make it broad based.
Maintaining that the unity among the fraternity was the hall mark for achieving the goal, the speakers decided to hold a review meeting soon before taking the agitational programme in hand.
The other office bearers of the Association K K Raina and Pushkar Nath Pandita also addressed the meeting.
It demanded commissioning of programmes by DD Kashir immediately, local commissioning of programmes at the level of DDK of Jammu, Srinagar and Leh in the State, allotment of funds for 104 approved files under the commissioning category pending with DD Delhi, renewal of empanelment of producers of DD Kashir for five years besides settlement of other demands of Media Art Association.
