BHADERWAH, Oct 26: MCA Department of Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu organized Tech Quiz competition “Sanganana-2k15” for the students of MCA I, III & V Semesters.
35 students of the department participated in the competition.
The tech quiz was conducted in two stages. The stage I was the elimination round in which a Written Quiz of 30 questions in 30 minutes were asked and conducted at the morning session. The performance was evaluated on the number of correct answers.
The more challenging stage II was conducted at the evening session in which only top 15 students were selected in five groups to determine the top team. The quiz covered questions on current trends in IT, Programming languages, Databases, Operating systems and the topics related to IT. Majid Anjum, Harpreet Kour and Arjun Singh were the quiz masters. There was a tie between two teams. Ritav Proach, Abrar Ahmed and Deepali Kotwal secured second position and Tanniya Jamwal, Mohd. Sarfraz and Upma Sharma also secured the second position.
Prof. G. M. Bhat, Rector of the Campus inspired the students and suggested them to take part in co-curricular activities in addition to their academics. Earlier, Sourabh Shastri, I/C Head MCA Department and Organizing Secretary of the Quiz presented welcome adderess.
Dr Kuljit Singh, Academic Coordinator said that in the era of competitions, it is important to organize such programmes to prepare the students for bigger competitions.
The Quiz was anchored by Karamjeet Kour and Aaqib Hassan Ganai. Arqum Hamid, Sunil Singh, Tanniya Jamwal, Summeta Gupta, Monika Rajput, Majid Anjum, Ritav Proach and Randeep Raina, coordinated the programme.
At the end, Dr. Kuljit Singh presented a formal vote of thanks. Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Dr. Subash Chander, Bablu Sharma, Muzaffar Hamid, Nitin Kotwal, Haris Riaz, Abrar Sheikh and Arun Singh were also present on the occasion.
