Mayor starts development works

JAMMU, Jan 24: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Sobat Ali, Councillor Ward number 74 and Narinder Singh Jamwal, Ex-Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee of JMC visited many localities of Chowadhi and adjoining areas and met the locals.
The locals raised problems regarding sanitation, construction of drains-lanes, installation of street lights, lifting of stray animals and other such issues.
The Mayor and others accompanying him assured the locals that all their issues will be sorted out on priority.
After this the Mayor started construction of drains in the newly developed Maharaja Gulab Singh Nagar in Chowadhi with an estimated cost of Rs. 10 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that more funds will be provided as early as possible for the completion of construction of lanes so that the locals may be benefitted.
He directed the concerned Engineer Wing to keep strict vigil on the ongoing works to ensure that best and durable construction material is used for the work.
R.K Mahajan, Executive Engineer; Khalid Iqbal, Assistant Executive Engineer and other supervisory staff of Engineering Division along with Rajinder Kumar, Sanitation Officer and others were also present on the occasion.
