JAMMU, Feb 5: To carry on the facilities under Swacch Bharat Mission, the Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta along with Commissioner, JMC Pankaj Magotra and others, inspected various nallahs of Nai Basti and adjoining areas and directed the concerned to get these nallahs disilted on war footing so that dirty water/ garbage may not over flow on the roads during the coming rainy season.
Sufficient number of men and machinery was deployed by Health & Sanitation wing / Transport wing for this drive. During this drive, sweeping of roads, desilting of Nallahs, sprinkling of lime was done. About two trucks of garbage and debris was removed with the help of vehicles deployed on the spot. The Mayor also appealed to the general public not to throw garbage , silt, polythene etc in the nallahs and cooperate with the Jammu Municipal Corporation to keep the city neat clean and green.
Chairman Health and Sanitation Baldev Singh Billawaria; Pawan Singh, Councilor ward number 23; Neeraj Puri, Councilor ward number 54; Rahul Kumar, Councilor ward number 20; Chief Transport Officer, JMC, Talat Mehmood and other officers/officials were also present during the drive.
