CHENNAI : Manufacturer and marketer of mobile phones Maxx Mobilink today said it plans to set up 100 exclusive company-owned service centres in the country.
“Our plan is to exclusively launch the mobile phones in the centres. The Smartcare centres would service handsets and will be company owned,” Maxx Mobilink Pvt Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Ajjay R Agarwal told reporters.
According to him, the company holds 1.5 per cent market share in the mobile phone segment and plans to expand its service centres across the country.
“Our plan is to open 15 Maxx Smartcare centres across the country by this year. In 2015-16, we will open 85 more company owned outlets”, he said.
Noting that each company outlet requires investment of about Rs 15 lakh, he said for the 15 outlets the company proposed investments of Rs 1.50 crore.
On the plan for 2015-16, he said the company manufacturing unit at Haridwar would begin production of handsets.
“We have invested around Rs 500 crore in the unit so far. It is one of the largest facility spread across 25 acre. We are planning to begin manufacturing of handsets from the unit from April,” he said. (AGENCIES)
