JAMMU, Feb 28: Office bearers of Jammu Mathematical Society have been given mandate to continue for another term of two years.
The mandate was given by the general body on concluding day of the annual conference of Jammu Mathematical Society and National Seminar on “Analysis and Topology” at University of Jammu, here today.
The JMS office bearers are Prof D S Jamwal (president), Prof Bhopinder Singh (vice-president), Dr K S Charak (secretary), Dr Sunil Gupta (treasurer), and Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina ( joint-secretary).
Members agreed in principle to rotate holding of JMS among all adjoining Universities of the region delegating all responsibility as organising secretary to some member working therein, and giving responsibility of holding one-day student level conference to some city college. Further, a proposal was also moved to form team of college teachers to visit adjoining schools for generating interest of students in mathematics.
