SRINAGAR, July 3: All Jammu and Kashmir Masters Forum today staged protest demonstrations against the non-payment of their salaries for the last couple of months.
The protesting teachers said that their salaries are released after 4-5 months and in some cases after 6 months and that too after making hue and cry for the same.
“We are Masters recruited by SSB through a proper process, we are at the verge of retirement but we still have to come out on road to press for our demands,” said Aijaz Ahmad of the Forum.
“Salary comes after 4-5 months and that too even after we come out and protest; It is an irony. We have been protesting for years but nobody is taking us seriously,” he said.
“We were told that the Govt will resolve the issue, but nothing has been done so far,” he said.
The teachers demanded that their salary should be linked with the State budget so that they don’t have to face any delay with regard to the release of their dues, “salaries should be released on time like other employees,” they said.
While demanding that the Governor Satya Pal Malik and the Chief Secretary should take some interest in their plight and get their issue resolved, they said, “We don’t want to leave schools, but they have exploited our silence, now we again appeal Governor and the Chief Secretary to resolve our issues.
