Srinagar, Nov 2: In a tragic incident, caretaker of a Masjid in Rajbagh area of city’s uptown was charred to death in a blaze incident.
A police spokesman said fire broke out at Ikhrajpora locality of Rajbagh resulting in complete damage to the worship place. “One person identified as Alam Din Chohan (Hamami of Masjid or caretaker), a resident of Gogal village of Lolab in frontier Kupwara district, who was trapped inside the Masjid at the time of incident died on spot,” the spokesman said. He said the blaze was brought under control by fire tenders with the help of police and locals.
The spokesman further said that four more structures were gutted in blaze in other parts of the Valley.
