KISHTWAR, Oct 25: To check the prices of the essential commodities in view of the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha, market checking team conducted inspection of various shops in the district.
The checking was conducted in the town especially in butchers shops, sweet shops, vegetable and other shops.
During checking, various defaulters were booked and a fine of Rs 4,100 was realized from them.
The market checking team comprised of Tehsildar, Kishtwar, SDPO, EO Municipality, Drug Inspector, Food Inspector, Khilafwarzi Officer, besides other members of the team.
The team instructed the butchers and other shopkeepers to avoid black-marketing and other malpractices otherwise, strict action will be taken against them under law.
