Manyal reviews functioning of Health Deptt

JAMMU, May 5: Minister for Health & Medical Education Department, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal today chaired maiden meeting of Health Department and reviewed its performance.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Gurjeet Singh Soodan, Director Family Welfare Dr. Samir Mattoo, MD NHM Dr. Yash Paul, MD JKMSCL Inderjeet, Dy. Director Health HQ Dr. Chander Parkash, Dy. Director Schemes Dr. Dimple Singh, Dy. Director Planning Neelam Baru, MS Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Dr. ADS Manhas CMOs, Medical Superintendent of District Hospitals of Jammu Division, Division Nodal Officers of various schemes, staff officers of Directorate of Health Services Jammu.
During the meeting, the Minister took the review of functioning of various hospitals, staff position, availability of equipment, medicines, consumables etc.
The Minister directed for further improvement of patient care by effective and transparent implementation of health sector schemes at all levels.
He directed to ensure proper medical arrangements for forth coming Shri Amar Nath Yatra pilgrimage. He stressed on putting in place arrangements well in advance for combating Dengue/Malaria by establishing separate wards, testing facilities at all district District Hospitals.
National Programme for TB Control was also reviewed and the Minister asked the concerned doctors to strive for meeting the Prime Minister’s commitment to end TB by 2025.  He also directed the CMOs to conduct tour of their respective areas on regular intervals and closely supervise and monitor the implementation of schemes, punctuality and availability of staff in remote areas. He directed the concerned CMOs to establish Obstetric High Dependency Care (OHDC) Units in District Hospitals, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri and Kishtwar in a time bound manner.
Meanwhile, the Minister inspected upcoming Dialysis unit under Prime Minister National Dialysis Programme at Gandhi Nagar Hospital. He asked Medical Superintendents of other hospitals to establish Dialysis unit in their respective district hospitals at the earliest so that patients get this facility.
