SAMBA, Sept 24: Dr. D. K. Manyal J&K BJP general secretary and former Minister laid foundation stone of a Community Hall near temple of Guru Shree Nabha Dass ji, Purmandal today.
The Community Hall will be constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of Dr. Manyal, which he had sanctioned in 2017 on the request of local residents of Purmandal.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal speaking on the occasion said that the DPR of the Community Hall was prepared and its funds were released in the year 2017 but due to the circumstances that arose after the breaking of alliance Government in Jammu & Kashmir, the same work could not be completed much to the dismay of local residents.
Dr. Manyal said that now when the Government has decided to release the sanctioned funds for the already approved works out of the CDF of the then legislators the work was started formally in the presence of the prominent residents of Purmandal. He also requested the local Committee and Panchayat members to monitor the work process for the construction of the Community Hall and ensure that the quality work is done in completing the process.
Speaking on the occasion, Yoginder Sharma, Sarpanch Panchayat Purmandal said that it was a long pending demand of the residents of this village Purmandal which has been fulfilled by Dr. Manyal,. The Community Hall will cater the needs of the poor people of this area and he specifically said that this is the first Community Hall in this block which is going to be constructed out of the CDF of an MLA.
The chairman of the Shree Guru Nabha Dass Mandir Committee, Purmandal complimented Dr. Manyal for this gesture and requested the LG Administration for a Kitchen and washrooms for the full utilization of this Community Hall.
BDC Chairperson Arshad Begum said that the Community Hall will help all the residents of the area irrespective of their community for all type of their religious and community needs.
Officers of the Department of the Rural Development and prominent locals Baldev Raj, Master Govind Sharma, Balvir Singh Naib Sarpanch, Mool Raj, Joginder Sharma, Yashpaul Sharma, Hem Raj Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
